Who are we?

About the founder.
Gail Carpenter, PhD.

Hello! My name is Gail, founder of Fresh Coast Dairy Consulting, LLC. I’m an academic with dairy industry experience in technical services and a Ph.D. in Animal Science from Kansas State University focusing on dairy nutritional physiology. My goal is to leverage my obsession with data visualization to help dairy producers of all sizes succeed. I’ve been told that Excel doesn’t count as a hobby, but I don’t believe that for a minute.

Outside of my professional life, I love exploring local parks to find new favorite hiking trails with my dog, Leonidas. I’m a Michigander (thus the name “Fresh Coast”), an Ayrshire enthusiast (some of my favorites are featured on the home page of this website), and a bookworm (ask me what I’m reading!).
